American Legion-Post 18 meets the second Tuesday monthly (dark in February). The Auxiliary-Unit 18 meets the third Tuesday monthly on line UNLESS the meeting will be held jointly with the Post (check the calendar!). Current, transferring and new members encouraged to attend. Department of Rhode Island officers, members from other Posts and guests should contact the Commander to schedule a visitation. Please note: The Commander extends an open invitation for members of Unit 18 to attend all Post 18 meetings.
Our members participate in ceremonies, flag graves, maintain memorials, support troops and families of those deployed, volunteer at the RI Veterans Home, conduct flag education and poppy awareness, award a scholarship to Portsmouth High School senior, and support many other local, state, regional and national programs.
Post 18 has approximately 143 members while Unit 18 has approximately 35 members (we may be small, but we're mighty!). Our demographics include veterans from WWII to the current Global War on Terror and every conflict/war in between. The ladies in the Auxiliary are a vital part of our Legion Family. Their support and contributions are essential to helping our Post make a positive impact in the community.
